Our Services
Serene provides nursing and personal care services 24 hours per day. A care plan is individually developed for each resident and reviewed regularly to ensure personal care needs are met.
Medical care is provided to each resident by a doctor or practitioner of their choice. A wide range of therapies such as Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Speech therapy, Dietician and other Allied health professionals are provided to residents based on assessed needs.
Type of care
Permanent Residential Care Services (Permanent care)
Permanent Residential Care Services is for older people who need greater assistance and 24-hour nursing care. Previously known as 'nursing home care', this is provided for ACAT assessed people who require almost complete assistance with most daily living activities. It includes accommodation, meals, laundry, room cleaning and personal care. Nursing staff at the within our facilities manage the medical needs of such residents. Download Permanent Care Agreement
Respite Residential Care Services (Temporary Care)
Respite care is temporary care for an elderly person at a residential aged care facility, designed to give carers or family members a break. You are entitled to 63 days of respite care in a financial year. However if the ACAT thinks it is necessary, extensions of up to 21 days at a time are possible. Activities
Residents of Serene are able to enjoy a wide range of therapy and social activities, which includes bus outings, exercise programs, a walking group, newspaper readings, and craft, sing-along and visiting speakers, entertainers, school groups and pet visits, games and quizzes, videos, hand massage, happy hours and festival celebrations, such as St Patrick's Day, Halloween, Valentine's Day, Father's day and Mother's day. Church services and visitations are provided.
Meals
Residents at Serene are offered a nutritious, well-planned, seasonally arranged menu. All food is cooked fresh in our kitchen. The diverse menu is developed by our cook in consultation with our residents and dietician. Special diets, such as texture modifications, low fat, high energy and high protein etc. are catered for.
Laundry Services
All necessary linens such as sheets, pillow cases towels are supplied by the laundry service. Our in-house laundry provides a daily service. We wash and dry your clothes, taking special care with your more delicate garments.
Hairdressing
There is a hairdressing service on-site for your use, by appointment. Charges are very reasonable. Should you choose this service; the fee will be added to your account and payment is your responsibility.
Visiting
Visiting hours at Serene is very flexible and try and accommodate resident and family needs wherever possible. Visiting hours generally commence at 8:00am and extend to 8:00 in the evening. However, visiting hours may be extended depending on residents' needs. If visiting outside normal hours you are requested to keep noise to a minimum.
